The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, is continuing its investigation into the death of a 32 year-old male, whose body was found on Saturday, July 16th, 2016, near a residence in the 4100 block of 2nd Avenue. At this early stage in the investigation, there is no evidence that indicates the man’s death was the result of foul play; however, the investigation is ongoing which may help to clarify the circumstances of the death. As always, new information that comes to light through investigation may influence these early findings.
On July 16, 2016, at approximately 10:07 a.m., police were called to a residence in the 4100 block of 2nd Avenue, for a report of a male who was collapsed in the backyard. The male was confirmed deceased at the scene. The Coroner was requested, along with members of the Forensic Identification and Major Crimes units, with Patrol assisting in scene control and investigative tasks. The deceased male has been identified and his next-of-kin notified. His name will not be released at this time, since it is not yet clear whether or not this is a criminal investigation. This investigation will continue in conjunction with the Officer of the Chief Coroner.
