A 27 year-old Regina male has been charged with luring a child through use of the internet. This charge comes as the result of an investigation by members of the Regina Police Service Vice Unit.
The male suspect was arrested in downtown Regina on July 6, 2016. The details and tactics of the investigation will not be made public, except in the event that the case is argued in court. Officers were able to make a positive identification of a suspect alleged to be communicating messages of a sexual nature to a child by means of a computer, over a two-month period. The male was arrested without incident and subsequently charged.
Twenty-seven year-old Lyndon Adrian CHAMBERLIN, DOB: 1989-01-12, of Regina is charged with Luring a Person Under the Age of 16 Years by Means of Telecommunication [172.1(1)(b) CC]. CHAMBERLIN made his first court appearance on the charge in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016.
This investigation and arrest serves as a reminder to parents and caregivers to monitor their children’s internet use and online friends. Every citizen is also encouraged to report suspicious online activity, especially when it involves persons under the age of sixteen.
