Three people: two males and a female, are facing charges in connection with a stolen vehicle incident overnight.
On Monday, May 16, 2016, at approximately 12:40 am, police observed a vehicle recently reported stolen. Police, in an unmarked unit, were able to follow the vehicle at regular speeds until other officers were able to employ a tactic to stop the vehicle. The stolen vehicle was successfully stopped in the 800 block of Victoria Avenue, after colliding with a marked police SUV. A 28 year-old male, a 22 year-old female, and a 22 year-old male were removed from the vehicle, arrested and charged.
Twenty-eight year-old Jason Lee BIRD (1988/01/05), of Regina, is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 [355(A) CC] and Failure to Comply with Probation Order [733.1(1) CC].
Twenty-two year-old Toni Lynn TOTO (1993/06/02), of Southey, is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 [355(A) CC], Failure to Comply with Probation Order [733.1(1) CC], and Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer [249.1(1) CC].
Twenty-two year-old Nygel Ryan Reid SHINGOOSE (1994/03/20), of Regina, is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 [355(A) CC].
The three make their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, May 16, 2016, at 2:00 pm.
