Three females, ages 18 and 22, have been charged in connection with a May 5th shooting in the 2900 block of Dewdney Avenue that resulted in serious injury to a 21 year-old Regina male.
At approximately 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2016, police were dispatched to hospital after a report of a male who entered the emergency department with an injury consistent with a gunshot wound. Police learned that, about ten minutes earlier, the male victim has been at a business in the 2900 block of Dewdney Avenue. It’s believed the male was outside the business when one of the occupants of a parked vehicle shot him. The investigation into this incident has resulted in the arrests of three females who now face charges in connection with this event.
Eighteen year-old Faith Marie GOFORTH, DOB: 1997-05-24, of Regina, is charged with Attempt Murder [239(1)(a) CC]; Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000 (2015 file) [355(b) CC]; Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC]; and two charges of Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC]. Twenty-two year-old Deanna Marilyn MCKAY, DOB: 1994-03-07, of Regina, is charged with Discharging Firearm with Intent to Injure (party to the offence) [244.1(a) CC]. Twenty-two year-old Kelly Renee STONECHILD, DOB: 1993-06-02, of Regina, is also charged with Discharging Firearm with Intent to Injure (party to the offence) [244.1(a) CC], as well as four charges of Breach of Recognizance [145(3) CC]. All three accused appeared in Provincial Court on their charges at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016.
