A 16 year-old female was transported to hospital for minor injuries after a motor vehicle collision in Regina yesterday afternoon (Monday, April 18th, 2016).
On April 18, 2016, the Regina Police Service received a call at approximately 4:30 p.m. about a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Argyle Street and Woodward Avenue, with an injured pedestrian. The victim was transported to the hospital by EMS with minor injuries.
The thirty-seven year-old male driver of the vehicle was charged under the Traffic Safety Act for “Fail to yield right of way to pedestrian at intersection/marked crosswalk”. Motorists are encouraged to be extra careful in school zones. Reduce speed and watch for other users of the roadway, especially at intersections/marked crosswalks. Even though students are taught pedestrian safety, they may not always pay attention to traffic. Drive through a school zone as if it’s your child’s school. In Regina, school zones are in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day.
