The Regina Police Service is confirming that the death of a male, who was found critically injured in a house on the 1000 block Princess Street on Tuesday March 29th, is a homicide case.
A 27 year-old male, from Fort Qu’Appelle, has been charged in connection with this case.
The victim has been identified as 56 year-old Andre Joseph AUBERTIN, DOB: 1960-01-04, of Regina. His family has been notified of his death and these developments in the investigation.
This investigation began at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, when police were dispatched to a house in the 1000 block of Princess Street for a weapons call and a report of an injured male. Police and EMS arrived and located an adult male who was transported to hospital by EMS. The male was pronounced deceased in hospital. Police secured the scene and requested Major Crimes and Forensic Identification. Investigation into this event led to the arrest of a 27 year-old male who was subsequently charged.
Twenty-seven year-old Jerid Cole AZURE, DOB: 1988-12-23, of Fort Qu’Appelle, has been charged with Second Degree Murder [235(1) CC]. AZURE made his first appearance in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
