On March 15, 2016, at approximately 21:21 hrs (9:21 p.m.) police attended to 1900 block Scarth Street for a report of a male suspect who had just bear sprayed several people. Upon arriving on scene police located 34 year-old male victim, who had been approached by a male suspect who demanded his wallet and money. The victim refused and the suspect attempted to spray him with bear spray. The male suspect then approached a 54 year-old male victim and demanded his money. The victim refused and was then sprayed with bear spray. The male suspect then fled to the 1900 block of Lorne Street where he approached a 24 year-old male victim and sprayed him with bear spray. Both victims of the bear spray were treated at the scene by EMS. The third victim was not injured. Police located and arrested a 23 year-old male in relation to the incident in the 1900 block of Lorne Street.
Twenty-three year-old Zachariah GOFORTH (DOB: 1992/11/20), of Regina is charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule II Substance (Marihuana) [Sec 4(5), CDSA],
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose [Sec 88, CC],
- Carry a concealed weapon [Sec 90, CC],
- Assault with a weapon [Sec 267(a), CC],
- Robbery with violence [Sec 343(b), CC],
- Attempt Robbery [Sec 343(b), CC],
- Two charges of Breach of Undertaking [Sec 145(3), CC]
Zachariah GOFORTH will make his first appearance in Provincial Court on these charges on March 16, at 2:00 p.m
