The Regina Police Service confirms that a death investigation, begun on October 22, 2015, is now a homicide investigation. Police continue to investigate, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner. This is the eighth homicide in Regina in 2015.
The deceased person has been identified as a 48 year-old Regina male and, although his immediate family has been notified, there are additional notifications still to be made to family members living elsewhere. The victim’s name will not be released until that process is complete.
This investigation began at about 3:40 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015, when police were dispatched to a house in the 1500 block of Robinson Street, for a report of an injured person. Police and EMS arrived and found a male, in the residence, who was confirmed deceased by EMS. Patrol members secured the scene and Major Crimes, Forensic Identification and a Coroner were requested. The investigation into this death is ongoing. The scene at 1500 block Robinson Street has been released and, at this early stage, there is not yet anyone charged in connection with this case.
