A 50 year-old Regina woman has been charged with Fraud Over $5,000 after investigation by the Regina Police Service Commercial Crime Unit.
On August 5, 2015, the Regina Police Service received a report of a potential fraud had been committed using a provincial government grant system available to charitable organizations. It is alleged that eight different charitable organizations were fabricated in order to receive gaming licenses and grant money. The matter was brought to the attention of police by staff members of the branch which processes such applications. Investigation led to a search conducted on a Regina residence on September 3, 2015. A 50 year-old female was arrested and subsequently charged.
Fifty year-old Deanna Marie BESTON, DOB: 1964-12-18, of Regina is charged with Fraud Over $5,000, Section 380(1)(a) CC. BESTON was released on an undertaking to appear in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on October 22, 2015.
