The Regina Police Service wishes to inform the public about an upcoming public survey, from September 8th to approximately September 21st. The survey, conducted every two years on behalf of the Regina Police Service, is designed to gather feedback on several topics related to public perceptions of the Regina Police Service and crime in our city.
To maintain objectivity and reduce bias, the survey was designed by two professors from the University of Regina and will be conducted by Prairie Research Associates. Starting after the long weekend on September 8th, Prairie Research Associates will be randomly selecting residents’ phone numbers – both landlines and mobile phones – using postal code information. The callers conducting the survey will identify themselves as Prairie Research Associate employees. Respondents will be asked a number of questions about police information and social media, police visibility and presence, citizen satisfaction with police, fear of crime, and victimization experience. Completion of the surveys is expected to take a few weeks. Anyone working for the Regina Police Service or living with someone who currently works for the Regina Police Service will be excluded.
The Regina Police Service wants to reassure residents that this is a legitimate survey and part of the Service’s ongoing commitment to gather public input. Participation in this survey is completely voluntary, but the Regina Police Service encourages residents to take the opportunity to provide their feedback if contacted for this survey.
