Four Regina males are facing drug-trafficking and other charges after the Regina Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team executed search warrants on two residences and a vehicle on Friday July 3, 2015. These arrests come as the result of ongoing investigations into drug trafficking in the city of Regina.
The CDSA Search Warrants were executed at approximately 6:38 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2015 at two houses: in the 3800 block of 20th Avenue and the 2100 block of Halifax Street. The search on 20th Avenue yielded over 392 grams of cocaine, a quantity of marihuana, Canadian Currency as well as other items and paraphernalia associated to drug trafficking. Three males were arrested at this location. When police searched the house in the 2100 block Halifax Street, they found numerous cellular phones and Canadian Currency. One male was arrested at this address.
Charged in connection with these investigations are:
– Twenty-three year-old Mohamed Ilyaas BADAL, DOB: 1992-01-21 – charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) [5(2) CDSA]; Possession of a Controlled Substance (marihuana) [4(1) CDSA], Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000 [355(b) CC]; and five charges of Breach of Recognizance [145(3) CC].
– Twenty-two year-old Marwaas Ilyaas BADAL, DOB: 1993-05-31 – charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) [5(2) CDSA].
– Twenty-one year-old Kevin OTU, DOB: 1993-12-20 – charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) [5(2) CDSA].
– Twenty-five year-old Nasrudin Ali NUR, DOB: 1990-02-01 – charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) [5(2) CDSA].
All four accused made their first court appearances on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2015.
