A joint investigation between the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit and the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre, along with the assistance of the members from the Coronach RCMP detachment, resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence located in Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan, on Thursday June 18, 2015.
Arrested without incident at that time was-Michael John SLOUGH, who is originally from Saskatoon. (DOB- January 28, 1972).
The offences occurred in Saskatoon and were committed between December 2009 and January 2010.
The female child victim was seven years old at the time of the offences. The young girl has been identified and is currently being cared for in a safe and healthy environment.
At this time SLOUGH has been charged with the following:
• Administer Noxious Substance
• Sexual Assault x 2
• Sexual Interference x 2
• Make Child Pornography x 2
• Possession of Child Pornography
The investigation is ongoing as we believe we have additional victims that need to be identified, and with that, further charges are pending. At this point, these other potential victims appear to be adult females.
SLOUGH made his first court appearance on Monday June 22 and will be reappearing tomorrow, Wednesday June 24 at Saskatoon Provincial Court.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the R.C.M.P., Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
