A 24 year-old Regina male is facing two charges of sexual assault as the result of investigation into two, unrelated incidents earlier this year. This same individual was also identified as the suspect in a case of theft, on April 15th, unrelated to the incidents of sexual assault.
- On January 16, 2015, the Regina Police Service received a report of a sexual assault that occurred at about 9:55 p.m., on January 9, 2015, at a store in the 3800 block of Sherwood Drive. The 45 year-old female victim reported that she was touched, in a sexual manner, without her consent, by a unknown male. The victim provided a description of her assailant and police were able to obtain surveillance video of the sexual assault.
- On February 9, 2015 at approximately 3:04 p.m., police were dispatched to a business in the 2900 block of Dewdney Avenue for a report of a sexual assault that had just occurred. A 27 year-old female employee indicated that an unknown male had touched her in a sexual manner without her consent. Surveillance video of the suspect assisted police in the investigation.
- On April 15, 2015, an unknown male entered a liquor store in the 1800 block of Broad Street, took a bottle of liquor and placed it in a bag. He left the store without paying for the item.
Investigation into each of these incidents led to police identifying the same individual as the suspect in all three events. The 24 year-old suspect male, was arrested on June 2, 2015 and subsequently charged.
Twenty-four year-old Kenton Arnold DESJARLAIS, DOB: 1990-11-29, of Regina, is facing two charges of Sexual Assault [271 CC] and one charge of Theft Under $5,000 [334(b) CC]. DESJARLAIS made a court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, June 3, 2015.
