Police have charged two Saskatoon males after lengthy online Child Pornography investigations. These two investigations are not related in any manner except for the offences committed.
1) A joint investigation between the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit and the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence located in the Forest Grove area of Saskatoon on Wednesday May 20, 2015.
Police seized numerous computers and storage devices during the search.
Arrested was John MRAVNIK (D.O.B.-August 24, 1953)
MRAVNIK has been charged with Accessing Child Pornography and Possession of Child Pornography.
MRAVNIK will make his next court appearance on June 10, 2015 at Saskatoon Provincial Court.
2) On Thursday May 21, 2015, members of the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at a residence located in the Lakeview area of Saskatoon.
Numerous computers and storage devices were seized as well as a quantity of illegal drugs.
Arrested was Braden BARDELL (D.O.B.-May 3, 1985)
BARDELL was charged with Possession of Child Pornography and Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
BARDELL appeared in court today and is set over to Monday May 25, 2015, at 1030hrs at Saskatoon Provincial Court.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the R.C.M.P., Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
