The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, is confirming that a death investigation, begun the evening of April 22, 2015 in the 600 block Retallack Street, is now a homicide investigation. This is Regina’s second homicide of 2015.
On Wednesday April 22, 2015 at approximately 9:50 p.m., police were dispatched to the east lane of the 600 block of Robinson Street in Regina for a report of a person, who was believed to be deceased. Police attended and located the male; EMS confirmed the male deceased. Patrol members established a perimeter that initially included an area in the alley and a portion of the 600 block of Retallack Street. The Coroner was requested, along with the RPS Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Units. Initial investigation established, among other things, the identity of the deceased person. He is a 55 year-old Regina male and his next-of-kin have been notified; however, his identity will not be released at this time. Other aspects of this investigation are ongoing. At this early stage in the investigation, there is no one charged in connection with this case.
