The Regina Police Service is asking for help from the public in its investigations into a number of recent commercial robberies that occurred at the end of March and early April. Police believe these incidents are connected by the possibility that it is the same suspect responsible for these robberies. Investigators have agreed to release images of three recent incidents, believing someone may have information to identify the suspect or suspects.
The robberies are as follows:
- Saturday, March 28, 2015 – At approximately 10:15 p.m., police were dispatched to a restaurant in the 1100 block of Kramer Boulevard for a report of a robbery that occurred moments earlier. The 38 year-old female employee described a lone male suspect, approximately 5’ 7” to 5’ 8”; thin build; about 35-40 years of age; with brown eyes; with his face covered; wearing black pants, black jacket, black toque and black gloves. No weapon was seen. The suspect demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash, then fled the store on foot. A canine team was first on scene but could not establish a track. The employee was not physically harmed in this incident.
- Sunday, March 29, 2015 – At 9:07 p.m., police were dispatched to the 300 block of Albert Street for a robbery. The victim was a 30 year-old male employee. In this case the lone male suspect, carrying a knife, entered the store and demanded cash. The suspect is described as male, wearing a black jacket, black pants and a black toque. The suspect had his face covered. The suspect fled on foot. The canine track was unsuccessful, leading to the belief that the suspect may have had a vehicle nearby. The employee was not physically harmed in this incident.
- Friday, April 3, 2015 – At approximately 10:29 p.m., police were dispatched to a business in the 2100 block of East Victoria Avenue for a robbery. The male suspect was described as being in his late 50’s, approximately 5’ 5” tall, wearing a black jacket, dark blue jeans, and black toque with his face covered. The suspect indicated he had a weapon (although no weapon was seen) and demanded cash from the 23 year-old female employee. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the business. A search of the area by canine was unsuccessful, supporting the theory that the suspect had a vehicle nearby. The victim was shaken up by the event, but not physically harmed.
Police believe these incidents involve the same suspect. These three incidents are among a number of recent robberies under active investigation. Anyone who has information that could assist is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
