On April 2, 2015 members from the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit along with the Saskatoon Police Service arrested Gregory Howard PRESCOTT (DOB 1949-April-07). PRESCOTT was subsequently charged with Luring a Child, contrary to Section 172.1(1)(b) of the Criminal Code. PRESCOTT made his first appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Monday, April 6, 2015 and was remanded to the morning of Wednesday, April 8, 2015 for a Show Cause Hearing.
Investigators from the Saskatchewan ICE Unit had discovered an inappropriate online ad posted by PRESCOTT, which led ICE members to conduct an investigation into PRESCOTT’s activities and intentions.
PRESCOTT was later arrested by police without incident.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the R.C.M.P., Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
