The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Crown, has now concluded the death investigation begun on November 7, 2014, after the discovery of a deceased infant in the back yard of a residence in the 700 block of Retallack Street.
This investigation began on Friday, November 7, 2014, at approximately 3:30 p.m., when police were dispatched to the back yard of a residence in the 700 block of Retallack Street in Regina for a report of a deceased infant. Police, EMS and Regina Fire and Protective Services attended and found the remains of a deceased male infant, who appeared to be newborn.
After thorough investigation and consultation with the Crown (Ministry of Justice), there will be no criminal charges laid in this incident. The matter is now concluded.
