The Regina Police Service is advising the public of a sexual assault that occurred this week and also requesting information from the public to assist in this investigation.
On Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at about 12:34 a.m., police were dispatched to the 3500 block of Avonhurst Drive for a report of a weapons offence. When police arrived, a 19 year-old female reported that an unknown male attempted to sexually assault her and threatened her with a weapon. The female noticed two males in the area, called for help and as they approached, the suspect fled.
The suspect is described as male, medium complexion, 20-30 years old, medium build, 5’ 8” – 5’9”, black hair, wearing a checkered pattern coat with a hood, white shoes with white laces, black gloves, a black scarf or neck warmer, with thick lips and acne.
This incident is under investigation and police are continuing efforts to identify the suspect. Anyone who has information that could help is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Regina residents are also cautioned to be aware that this suspect is still at large and are encouraged to take lawful and appropriate measures to enhance their own safety.
