The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, in conducting a death investigation after being dispatched today to a report of a deceased male in a residence in the 2700 block of 5th Avenue North.
The call came in at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014, with the caller indicating that there was a deceased adult male at the residence. Police and EMS attended; EMS confirmed that the male was deceased. Officers secured the scene and requested the Coroner, Forensic Identification and Major Crimes. The Coroner has ordered an autopsy. The scene will be held pending further investigation. The male has been identified as a 65 year-old Regina male and police are now notifying his next-of-kin. The deceased person’s name will not be released at this time.
At this stage in the investigation, it is too early to say whether or not there is a criminal aspect to this case. The Regina Police Service will continue this investigation, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, in order to determine the circumstances of this death.
