Three males, two from Regina and one from Fort McMurray, Alberta, have been arrested and charged with a total of 14 charges as the result of continued investigation into drug trafficking in the city of Regina.
As a result of investigation, members of the Regina Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 2500 block of Edward Street in Regina. Prior to execution of the CDSA warrant, three males exited the suspect house and left in two vehicles. Police members stopped and detained the males. In searches incident to their arrests, two were found to be in possession of a substance believed to be cocaine. The search of the house resulted in the seizure of evidence consistent with drug trafficking activities, a small quantity of marihuana and approximately $8,000 in cash. In all ten people were placed under arrest: one female had outstanding warrants from previous matters (Saskatoon) and was released for court on December 17th; one 21 year-old male is the subject of an Immigration warrant and has been transferred to the custody of Canadian Border Services Agency; three males face a total of 14 charges; and five people, who were in the house, were released with no charges.
Twenty-two year-old Kamalladin NUR, DOB: 1992-08-16, of Regina faces four charges: Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 [355(a) CC]; two charges of Breach of Undertaking [145(5.1) CC]; and Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC]. NUR made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. today, November 13, 2014.
Twenty-one year-old Zakria MUIN, DOB: 1993-04-06, of Fort McMurray, AB, is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) [5(2) CDSA]. MUIN made his first court appearance on the charge in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. today, November 13, 2014.
Twenty-two year-old Mohamed Ilyaas BADAL, DOB: 1992-01-21, of Regina, faces nine charges: Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 [355(a) CC]; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) [5(2) CDSA]; five charges of Breach of Recognizance [145(3) CC]; Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC]; and Obstruct Peace Officer [129(a CC]. BADAL made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. today, November 13, 2014.
