The Regina Police Service is evaluating information posted to a popular web-based forum that claims to have information pertaining to the missing person case of Tamra Jewel KEEPNESS. In 2004, then-five-year-old Tamra KEEPNESS was reported missing by her family; her disappearance has been the subject of a lengthy ongoing investigation.
The Regina Police Service became aware of the post on Reddit on Sunday, November 2, 2014, claiming to have information on the KEEPNESS case. The post also includes a hand-drawn map of an area of the Muscowpetung Saulteaux First Nation. The coordinator for Long-Term Missing Persons Cases is investigating this post in order to evaluate the credibility of the information. The Regina Police Service has also been in touch with the leadership of the Muscowpetung Saulteaux First Nation and the RCMP, which is the law enforcement agency of jurisdiction. RPS has asked the RCMP, in conjunction with the Muscowpetung Saulteaux First Nation leadership, to have a preliminary look at the area of interest. This information will help investigators to formulate a plan for further investigation.
