The Regina Police Service has laid charges against two young females in connection with an assault that sent a 16 year-old to hospital with serious injuries. The accused are 15 and 13 years old.
At 1:13 a.m., on Wednesday October 8, 2014, the Regina Police Service received a call of an assault in progress in the 4000 block of 3rd Avenue. The information provided was that there was a group of people in the street fighting. Further information received was that a male was being assaulted and appeared to be injured. Police arrived and located a 16 year-old male who was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries that were described as serious. Police investigation led to the arrest of two females, ages 15 and 13, and charges against the two. The other members of the group of assailants have not yet been identified.
The names of the two accused cannot be made public in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Each is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm [267(b) CC] and Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC]. The accused will appear in Youth Court on November 19, 2014 at 9:30 a.m.
