As the result of continued investigation into illegal drug trafficking activity in the city of Regina, a 25 year-old Regina male has been arrested and now faces several drugs and weapons charges.
On Wednesday, September 3, 2014, Regina Police Service members obtained and executed a CDSA search warrant on a property in the 800 block of Athol Street. Police entered the house at 10:15 p.m. and took three people (two males and a female) into custody without incident. A significant quantity of cocaine (1.95 kilograms) was seized in the search of the house, as well as almost seven pounds of marihuana, an assault rifle and a quantity of cash. After further investigation, the female and one male were released with no charges; a 25 year-old male faces five charges in connection with this investigation.
Twenty five year-old Devon Leo COTE, DOB: 1989-04-19, of Regina made his first court appearance in Provincial Court today (Sept. 4, 2014) at 2:00 p.m. COTE is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) [5(2) CDSA]; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (marihuana) [5(2) CDSA]; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 [355(b) CC]; Possession of a Prohibited Weapon [91(2) CC]; and Careless Use of a Firearm [86(1) CC].
