The Regina Police Service is currently holding a house in the 1600 block of Toronto Street in relation to a criminal investigation, although, at this early stage, police are not able to confirm the exact nature of the event.
Earlier today, police were holding a portion of the 200 block of Quebec Street North as well; however, they have now cleared that area. These two locations are believed to be related to the same investigation.
Investigators believe at least one person may have been the victim of a crime, but this victim has not yet been located.
Police have a duty to preserve the scene of a potential crime until a thorough investigation has been completed.
Anyone who may have noted suspicious activity in the 1600 block of Toronto Street overnight is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. We will release more information once it is available.
