A 36 year-old male; who was arrested on Sunday, July 13, 2014, faces charges of Uttering Death threats towards Police, as well as possession charges for drugs as a result of investigation into his recent activities.
On July 12, 2014, The Regina Police Service learned of statements made via Facebook messages and posts making apparent death threats towards police. Preliminary investigation indicated that the individual was angered over a traffic ticket issued in rural Saskatchewan. After consultation, the Regina Police Service obtained a Warrant for Arrest for the 36 year-old male. The suspect was located and arrested at about 9:50 a.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2014, in the Warehouse District. He was the lone occupant in the vehicle and was arrested without incident. A small quantity of drugs was seized in his arrest.
James R COUMONT, DOB 1978/10/23, of Regina, is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (CDSA 4(5)) and Uttering threats (CC 264.1(1)(A)). COUMONT was released and will make his first court appearance at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014.
