The Regina Police Service is asking for help from the public in the investigation of a Break and Enter/Home Invasion that happened at a house in the 1200 block of Athol Street last night.
Police were dispatched at about 11:20 p.m. to a house in the 1200 block of Athol Street last night for what was initially described as a weapons offence. When police arrived they found a 61 year-old female victim who described that she had earlier been downstairs in her house when she heard a noise. She came up the stairs to find an unknown male, in her house. The male had broken down the door, damaging the door frame, to get into the house. The male is believed to have grabbed a knife in the kitchen and threatened the victim, while demanding money. The suspect got away with a small amount of cash. The victim did not require EMS.
The suspect description is somewhat limited, but the suspect is described as: male, Aboriginal, approximately 20-25 years old, with brown eyes, about 5’ 8” tall, with a thin build, wearing a black sweatshirt.
