As the result of ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the City of Regina, three males have been charged in connection with cocaine and marihuana-related offences. The three, ages 19, 24 and 28, were arrested last night, without incident.
Officers with the Regina Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team were conducting investigation into the activities of a male believed to be trafficking cocaine from a residence in the 3300 block Dawson Crescent. Police were able to arrest a 24 year-old male suspect in his vehicle and seized a quantity of cash and approximately ten grams of a substance, found to be cocaine. A search warrant was obtained for the residence on Dawson Crescent; two other males were arrested and a quantity of marihuana, packaging and several cellphones were seized. The first male suspect had court-ordered conditions to submit to search of his residence, which is on Froom Crescent. That search netted additional cash and bank deposit receipts. Further investigation led to charges against all three individuals.
Twenty-four year-old Abdimalik Dahir MOHAMED, DOB: 1989-12-10, of Regina, is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine) for the Purpose of Trafficking [5(2) CDSA] ; Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000 [355(b) CC] and Breach of Recognizance [145(3) CC]. Both 19 year-old Alyan ELASAR, DOB: 1994-09-13 and 28 year-old Abdirisak Yusuf IBRAHIM, DOB: 1985-07-15, both of Regina, are charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (cannabis marihuana) for the Purpose of Trafficking [5(2) CDSA]. All three men made their first court appearances in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014.
