Four young Regina males are charged with weapons-related offences after an incident on Saturday afternoon.
On June 21st, 2014 at approximately 5:30 p.m. police officers, who were stopped at a red light on Broad Street and 12th Avenue, observed a number of youths running from the northwest corner of the intersection, eastbound across Broad Street away from some other youths who remained on the northwest corner. Both groups were yelling at one another. One male on the northwest corner appeared to be a victim of pepper/bear spray. Another male with him pulled out a knife and he and the victim of the pepper spray crossed the street eastbound in pursuit of the others. Police intervened and pursued the individuals, which led to arrests and charges.
EMS attended to the pepper-sprayed victim.
Charged in this instance were four male youths who will not be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
A 15 year-old Regina male is charged with Possession of a Weapon [88 CC].
A second 15 year-old male is charged with Assault with a Weapon [267(a) CC], and Assault with a Weapon [267(a) CC].
A 16 year-old Regina male is charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon [90 CC], Possession of a Weapon [88 CC], and Assault with a Weapon [267(a) CC].
Another 16 year-old Regina male is charged with Failure to Comply with Disposition [137 YCJ Act], Assault with a Weapon [267(a) CC], and Possession of a Weapon [88 CC].
All four individuals made their court appearance at Youth Court today, June 23rd, 2014 at 9:30 a.m.
