A joint investigation between members of the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit and the New Brunswick Integrated Child Exploitation Unit has led to the arrest of a Saskatchewan male.
On Thursday May 15,2014, with the assistance of the Carlyle RCMP, a 53 year old Carlyle resident was arrested and charged with 1) Possession of Child Pornography, 2) Communicate with a person under the age of 18 years to facilitate the commission of an offence, and 3) Send sexual material to a person under the age of 18 years to facilitate the commission of an offence.
The accused will make his first court appearance on July 16, 2014 in Carlyle, Sask.
The name of the charged male will not be released at this time to protect the identity of the child victim.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit consists of members from the Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, Prince Albert Police Service and the RCMP.
