As the result of ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the city of Regina, two males, one 18 and one 17 years old, have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.
On Friday, March 7, 2014, as part of ongoing investigation into the activities of a Regina male believed to be involved in drug trafficking, police observed a vehicle belonging to the suspect, with a male passenger. The two occupants of the vehicle were on court-ordered conditions not to have contact with each other. At a point, when the vehicle was parked in the 2000 block of Fleury Street, and police were able to apprehend both males, they were taken into custody without incident. Searches of the suspects and the vehicle yielded approximately nine ounces of a substance alleged to be cocaine, a quantity of cash and other paraphernalia associated to the drug trade. The two males were subsequently charged in connection with the case.
Eighteen year-old Alex Brian HUTCHINSON, DOB: 1995-11-27, of Regina, is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) [5(2) CDSA]; Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5,000 (proceeds, cash) [355(b) CC] and two charges of Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC]. HUTCHINSON made his first appearance on the charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014.
The 17 year-old male, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) [5(2) CDSA]; and two charges of Breach of Undertaking [145(5.1) CC]. The youth made his first appearance on the charges in Youth Court this morning at 9:30 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2014.
