The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, has begun a death investigation after the discovery of a deceased male in a house in the 1000 block of Garnet Street.
At approximately 2:53 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014, police were dispatched to a house in the 1000 block of Garnet Street for a report of a male who was injured and, possibly, deceased. Police and EMS arrived at the location and EMS confirmed the male deceased. Police secured the scene and requested the Coroner, as well as additional investigative personnel. At present, in addition to police holding the scene and conducting interviews, the Forensic Identification Unit is working to confirm the identity of the deceased person, known at this time to be an adult male. Once the deceased person is identified, police will make notification to his next-of-kin. The investigation will continue, in conjunction with the Coroner, to determine the circumstances of this death.
