A 37 year-old Regina woman faces charges in a case that alleges the accused defrauded an 89 year-old victim of over $112,000.00 in cash and property.
On Saturday, October 5th, 2013 police received a report of a theft. The report alleged that in May of 2013, the suspect befriended the victim: an 89 year-old woman, who suffered from confusion, in hospital. The suspect was subsequently hired as the victim’s caregiver for a four month period, up until the victim died (of natural causes). During that four month period, it is alleged the 37 year-old woman removed over $112,000 in cash and property from the victim’s accounts and home. Investigation into this complaint led to the arrest of a 37 year-old Regina woman on February 25th 2014.
Thirty-seven year-old Kimberly Dawn KELLN, (DOB: 1976/05/10) is charged with Theft Over $5,000 [334(a) CC] and Fraud Over $5,000 [380(1)(a) CC] and is scheduled to make her first court appearance on April 15th, 2014 at 9:30 a.m.
