A portion of 12th Avenue between Hamilton and Scarth Street is currently closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
This, after a part of a panel of glass fell from the building at 2010 12th Avenue (the third tower building).
Police were called at 10:38 a.m. today, Monday February 3rd, to the 2000 block of 12th Avenue because a portion of a 4’ by 8’ panel of glass fell from one of the upper stories of a building at 2010 – 12th Avenue. Regina Fire and Protective Services has also been called out.
There are no known injuries caused by the glass that fell and a part of the broken panel is still attached to the building, so there are people working on securing/removing that remaining piece of glass. In the meantime, police have blocked 12th Avenue from Hamilton to Scarth Street. The street is closed to vehicles and pedestrians. It is likely that part of the street will remain closed for the next two to three hours.
Please adjust your movement through the downtown area accordingly.
