The Regina Police Service congratulates the recipients of Regina Police Service Awards, presented today to 17 civilians and 82 police officers to thank them for their contributions to the community, policing and public safety. Members of the Regina Board of Police Commissioners joined the recipients, their families, friends, other Police Service employees and media at today’s event, held at the Delta Regina, Umbria Room. The award recipients are:
Cst. Steven Dods – A Chief’s Commendation for saving the life of an individual, by performing emergency CPR until EMS arrived to care for a male who’d collapsed and stopped breathing;
Sgts. Kelly Campbell and Shelly Pelletier; Csts. Jeff Lewis, Christopher Thacyk, Jennifer Ferris, Curtis Neufeld, Jay LaRocque, Christopher Tunison, Neil Coulthard, Derek Csada, Graham Borne, Tyler Sebulsky, Greg Krawetz, Greg Fleece, Scott Ash, Jeremy Kerth, Colin Schellhorn and Michael Seel – A Teamwork Award for their exceptional investigative work in solving a serious hit and run;
Cst. Keith Salamon – A Chief’s Commendation for his quick response, wading into an icy creek three times, getting two children and a woman to a safe position and into the care of EMS;
Mr. Dwight Siman – A Chief’s Commendation for his heroism in pulling a motorist from a truck that had been hit in a collision and had burst into flames;

Drew Wagner, Ms. Chantal Magnas, Dr. Juliet Soper, Ms. Barb Beaurivage, Ms. Ashley Young, Ms. Carrie Bavle, Ms. Kereri Martin and Mr. Kevin Pierce – A Teamwork Award in recognition of the collaborative efforts of members of four agencies in investigating a serious case of abuse involving children;
In the same investigation: Cpls. Kelly Newman and Tia Froh and Ms. Ashley Young were awarded a Meritorious Performance Award for investigative work, demonstrating diligence and commitment that exceeded the standard;
Mr. Michael Deis and Mr. Kevin Sinclair – A Special Service Award in recognition of their assistance in apprehending two suspects in a fatal hit-and-run collision;
Staff Sgt. Ron Weir; Sgts. Darren Parisian, Deb Altrogge, Paul Pitzel; Cpls. Candace Benko, Drew Wagner, Barry Bernard, Jared Clarke, Ken Kuan; and Csts. Lisa Davey, Chuck Cooke, Joel Bautista, Mitch Barber, Christine Pura and Paul Fischer – A Teamwork Award in Recognition of their dedication and commitment to reducing Internet Child Sexual Exploitation;
Ms. Heike Horn and Mr. Sebastian Schmidt – A Special Service Award for their decision to assist the police providing critical information to help conclude a fatal motor vehicle collision.

Ian Barr – A Teamwork Award for their key roles in planning and implementing the Regina Police Service’s role, along with other safety and security providers, in the 101st Grey Cup Festival and Championship Game.
