The Regina Police Service has concluded that there is no known criminal aspect in the case of the death of a 50 year-old male in Regina yesterday morning.
Police were dispatched just after 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 to the railway tracks near North Railway Street, between York and Alexandra Streets. It appeared that a male pedestrian was struck by a west-bound train at the location. The male was transported to hospital by EMS in what was described as very serious condition. Later that morning, it was confirmed that the male had died in hospital. As indicated, there is no evidence of any criminal aspect in this case.
The Regina Police Service will continue to assist the Office of the Chief Coroner as required, in order to complete this investigation.
