On Friday October 18, 2013, members from the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit arrested a 40 year old Saskatoon resident for Luring a 15 year old girl over the Internet. The male went to a pre-arranged location in Saskatoon to meet with the girl for a sexual purpose when he was arrested by police after briefly attempting to evade capture.
Arrested was David Andrew HUBBARD. (D.O.B.- January 7, 1973) HUBBARD is charged with Luring a Child, section 172.1(1)(b) CC and Flight, section 249.1(1) CC. HUBBARD will make his first court appearance Monday morning, October 21, 2013 in Saskatoon. In 2008 Hubbard was convicted of Luring a child and the possession of child pornography in an investigation involving similar circumstances.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the R.C.M.P., Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
