Two adult males, ages 29 and 32, have been charged with Aggravated Assault in connection with an incident on August 18th that sent a 20 year-old male to hospital with serious injuries.
On Sunday, August 18, 2013, at approximately 2:50 a.m., police were dispatched to a nightclub in the 2000 block of Dewdney Avenue, for a report of a group of people involved in, or gathered around, a fight. Police arrived onscene and found a 20 year-old male who’d sustained apparent serious injuries, consistent with a physical altercation. EMS took the victim to hospital for treatment of his injuries. Officers began investigation into this incident and interviewed a number of people who were still present in the area as well as others identified and located after the fact. Continued investigation into this incident led to the arrests of two males just before 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.
The accused are: 32 year-old Dwight ANDERSON, DOB: 1981-07-07, and 29 year-old Tajiddin Muquadir SMITH-WILSON, DOB: 1983-09-30, both residents of Regina. Both ANDERSON and SMITH-WILSON are charged with Aggravated Assault, contrary to section 268(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. ANDERSON and SMITH-WILSON will make their court appearances on the charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2013. This investigation is ongoing.
