The Regina Police Service has concluded a death investigation after the discovery of a deceased female in a 14th Avenue apartment last week. After completion of an autopsy, the death has been ruled as a homicide. This is the 6th homicide in Regina in 2013.
At 3:47 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013, police were dispatched to an apartment in the 2100 block of 14th Avenue for a report of a female who was possibly deceased. Police arrived and located the body of an adult female inside the apartment; EMS confirmed the woman was deceased. Police secured the scene and requested additional resources, including the Coroner, Major Crimes and Forensic Identification investigators. The deceased has been identified as 46 year old Rachel Shepherd, DOB: 1967/01/30, of Regina.
Eighteen year old James Dustin Woody MYERS, DOB: 1995/01/11, of Regina is charged with Second Degree Murder [CC 235(1)]. MYERS will make his first court appearance on these charges tomorrow morning, Friday, June 7, at 9:30.
