The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, has begun a death investigation, after the discovery, early this morning, of a deceased female in a 14th Avenue apartment.
At approximately 3:47 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013, police were dispatched to an apartment in the 2100 block of 14th Avenue for a report of a female who was possibly deceased. Police arrived and located the body of an adult female inside the apartment; EMS confirmed the woman was deceased. Police secured the scene and requested additional resources, including the Coroner, Major Crimes and Forensic Identification investigators. At this early stage in the investigation, the activities include confirming the identity of the deceased woman and notifying her next-of-kin as well as preserving the scene and gathering potential evidence. Investigators are also speaking with a number of people in efforts to determine the circumstances of this woman’s death.
