As the result of an investigation into a drug-related offence in the city of Regina, the Regina Police Service executed a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrant on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at a house in the 900 block of Rae Street.
Members of Patrol, Canine, Criminal Investigations, Negotiators and Special Weapons and Tactics were involved in this call. Police set up a safety perimeter around a house in the 900 block of Rae Street. Because of the possible presence of weapons in the house, police treated the call as a high-risk search warrant. Residents of the area may have heard loud noises from a distraction device but there were no shots fired. Once inside, police removed all occupants of the house; there were three males and three females inside and one male located outside. All are adults; there were no children in the house. Police seized drugs, Canadian currency a firearm and ammunition.
There were no injuries associated to this emergency services call. The investigation into this matter is ongoing. At this stage, police are determining the roles of the occupants of the house. There are no other details to report, but it is anticipated charges will follow.
