A Regina male is facing charges after an arrest on Friday night.
On Friday, May 10, 2013, at approximately 9:15 p.m., as a result of continuing investigation into drug activity in Regina, members of the Regina Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team attempted to stop a vehicle on the 1900 block of Hamilton Street. When police attempted to make the stop, the Regina male fled his vehicle and was apprehended on foot on Saskatchewan Drive. There were damages to vehicles as a result of the incident.
Located in the vehicle were 2.77 g of cocaine, over $1,200 in cash, a black handgun style pellet gun, and three cell phones.
Twenty-three year-old Maluak Joseph ATHEL (DOB 1990/01/01) of Regina is facing charges of Trafficking Cocaine [CDSA 5(1)], Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine [CDSA (2)], Proceeds of Crime – under $5,000 [355(b) CC], and Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC]. ATHEL made his first court appearance in Provincial Court on May 13 at 9:30 a.m.
