The Regina Police Service has additional information to add to a April 25, 2013 news release confirming firearms recovered in Calgary from a 2011 Break, Enter and Theft at a sporting goods business in Regina.
The initial information provided to Regina Police Service Public Information confirmed the seizure of three firearms last year in Calgary as part of a drug search. There were, in fact, five firearms seized in Calgary which were eventually linked to the Regina Break and Enter. The identification of the weapons and the notification occurred on two separate occasions, two months apart. There is no evidence to indicate that those in possession of the firearms in Calgary in 2012 were responsible for the Break and Enter in Regina in 2011.
We apologize for the error and any inconvenience it may have caused.
