The Regina Police Service is treating a death investigation, which began earlier today in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, as a homicide investigation. This is Regina’s third homicide of 2013.
Police were dispatched at approximately 5:50 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013 for a 9-1-1 call of a seriously-injured male in a house in the 400 block of Wascana Street. Police arrived and located an adult male in the house, who appeared to be deceased. EMS also attended and pronounced the male deceased. Patrol members searched and secured the residence and requested the Coroner, Major Crimes and Forensic Identification members to the scene. This investigation is still in its early stages. Police believe they have the identity of the victim; however his name will not be released pending further investigation and notification of his next-of-kin.
