Five people are facing a total of 37 drug and weapons-related charges, following three related drug warrant searches on Friday, March, 8, 2013. In total, police seized: 104 Marihuana plants, 74.33 pounds of Cannabis Marihuana, 13.84 pounds of Psilocybin mushrooms, 13.8 pounds of Hash/oil, 12 tabs of LSD, approximately $53,000 in Canadian and Chinese currency; a long-barreled firearm and ammunition; and a switchblade knife.
The searches came about as the result of ongoing investigation into illegal production and trafficking of drugs in the city of Regina by the Regina Integrated Drug Unit, which is made up of police officers from the Regina Police Service and Royal Canadian Mounted Police. In this investigation, RIDU members were also assisted by Regina Police Service patrol and property crimes members as well as an investigator from SCAN (Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods, Ministry of Justice) and NWEST (National Weapons Enforcement Support Team).
On Friday, March 8, 2013, at approximately 12:30 p.m., police executed CDSA search warrants at properties in the 2300 and 2400 blocks of 11th Avenue, as well as a residence in the 0-100 block of Powell Place. The searches were carried out without incident. A significant amount of drugs was seized in the searches, as well as cash, a firearm and ammunition, and a switchblade. In total, four people were arrested and charged on March 8, 2013. A fifth person was arrested and charged on March 9, 2013.
The following individuals have been charged in connection with this investigation:
1) Fifty-two year-old Dale Patrick BAUMET, DOB: 1960-09-14, of Regina, (18 charges in total). Dale BAUMET is charged with three charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Marihuana [5(2) CDSA]; Production of Cannabis Marihuana [7(1)CDSA]; two charges of Production of Cannabis Resin (hashish) [7(1)CDSA]; two charges of Production of Cannabis Resin (hashish oil) [7(1) CDSA]; two charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Psilocybin mushrooms [5(2) CDSA]; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cannabis Resin (hashish) [5(2) CDSA]; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (hashish oil) [5(2) CDSA]; Possession of LSD [4(1) CDSA]; Unsafe Storage of a Firearm [86(1) CC]; Possession of a Prohibited Device (rifle magazines) [91(2) CC]; Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (switchblade) [91(2) CC]; Possession of a Prohibited Firearm without a License [91(1) CC]; and Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000 [355(a) CC].
2) Twenty-two year-old Dylan Levi BAUMET, DOB: 1990-05-08, of Regina, (8 charges in total). Dylan BAUMET is charged with Production of Cannabis Marihuana [7(1) CDSA]; Production of Cannabis Resin (hashish) [7(1) CDSA]; Production of Cannabis Resin (hashish oil) [7(1) CDSA]; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Marihuana [5(2) CDSA]; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Psilocybin mushrooms [5(2) CDSA]; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cannabis Resin (hashish) [5(2) CDSA]; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (hashish oil) [5(2) CDSA]; and Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000 [355(a) CC].
3) Fifty-two year-old Jocelyne Lucy FAFARD, DOB: 1960-05-29, of Regina, (8 charges in total). Jocelyne FAFARD is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Marihuana [5(2) CDSA]; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Psilocybin mushrooms [5(2) CDSA]; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cannabis Resin (hashish) 5(2) CDSA]; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (hashish oil) [5(2) CDSA]; Possession of LSD [4(1) CDSA]; Unsafe Storage of a Firearm [86(1) CC]; Possession of a Prohibited Device (rifle magazines) [91(2) CC]; Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (switchblade) [91(2) CC].
4) Thirty-six year-old Collin Craig MIDDLETON, DOB: 1976-09-24, of Regina, is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Marihuana [5(2) CDSA]; and Possession of Proceeds of Crime [355(a) CC].
5) Twenty-four year-old Janelle Ivy BAUMET, DOB: 1988-10-02, of Regina, is charged with Possession of Marihuana [4(5) CDSA].
Janelle BAUMET was released on an appearance notice for court on April 10, 2013. Colin MIDDLETON will make his first court appearance on April 15, 2013. Dale BAUMET, Dylan BAUMET and Jocelyne FAFARD will make their first court appearances on their charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, Monday, March 11, 2013.
