A 29 year-old man has been charged with possession of stolen property, believed to be connected to a recent Saskatoon business Break and Enter. The same individual is also facing a drug charge.
The investigation began just before 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, when police received a phone call reporting a person behaving suspiciously at the STC bus depot in the 1700 block of Saskatchewan Drive. According to the caller, the man was removing price tags from what appeared to be numerous items in a large bag. Police arrived and located the male matching the suspect description. Investigation led to a search of the male’s duffel bag, which was found to contain one hundred video games, ten video game consoles and chargers, over 50 items of jewelry and cash, including old currency. Believing the items to be stolen, officers conducted further investigation and determined that the items matched the description of property reported stolen in a business Break and Enter in Saskatoon on Sunday, March 3, 2013. A search of the suspect produced a quantity of a substance believed to be cocaine. The suspect was charged with Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000 and Possession of Cocaine as a result of this investigation; the Saskatoon Police Service was contacted with this information which appears to be related to their Break and Enter file.
