On February 11, 2013 the Saskatchewan ICE Unit began an investigation after a complaint was made concerning a Craigslist advertisement, specifically about incest.
Further investigation identified Matthew ZABA, (DOB-November 30, 1979) from Regina, Saskatchewan had posted the advertisement on Craigslist. On February 21, 2013 Matthew ZABA was arrested and charged for making arrangements with another person, via telecommunication, to commit a sexual offence against a child. A charge of possession of child pornography was also laid against Matthew ZABA.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the R.C.M.P., Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
ZABA made his first court appearance Friday morning, February 22, 2013.
