Two Regina males, a 19 year-old and a 15 year-old youth, are charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm as part of an ongoing investigation into the recent assault of a 19 year-old Regina male.
On February 1, 2013, Regina Police Service investigators received information of a physical assault by a group of males on a 19 year-old male, believed to have taken place a day or two earlier. Investigation into this allegation led to the arrest of a 15 year-old male on February 1, 2013 and the subsequent arrest of a 19 year-old male on February 6, 2013. Both were charged in connection with the assault and both were found to be in breach of court-ordered conditions. It’s believed the assault occurred in a house on the 1000 block of Robinson Street on the night of January 30th, or in the early morning hours of January 31st. The victim received injuries consistent with a physical assault. This investigation is ongoing.
The 15 year-old male accused cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm [267(b) CC] and Fail to Comply (with court-ordered conditions) [137 YCJA]. He made his first court appearance on these charges in Youth Court on February 4, 2013.
Nineteen year-old Jessy GENAILLE, also known as Jessy CYR, DOB: 1994-01-20, of Regina is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm [267(b) CC] and two charges of Breach of Recognizance [145(3) CC]. GENAILLE/CYR will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2013.
