Three people, two females and a male, are facing numerous drug-related charges in connection with a search warrant executed last night at an apartment residence on Nollet Crescent, in the city’s North West.
This search came about as the result of ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in Regina. Investigation by the Regina Integrated Drug Unit (comprised of police officers from the Regina Police Service and RCMP) led officers to conduct surveillance on suspects believed to be involved in drug trafficking. At approximately 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, two female suspects, a 21 year-old and a 29 year-old, were observed in a vehicle. Patrol assisted by conducting a traffic stop of the vehicle, without incident, in the area of McIntosh Street and Sherwood Drive. The 29 year-old suspect had an outstanding warrant for drug possession. The 21 year-old was subject to court ordered conditions including police search of her person, vehicle and residence. The subsequent search of this suspect led to the discovery of a substance believed to be methamphetamine and other evidence related to trafficking narcotics. Both women were arrested without incident. Police then obtained a CDSA search warrant for a residence on Nollet Crescent. Believing that firearms may be involved, RIDU members were assisted by members of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team, or SWAT. This search resulted in the arrest of a 26 year-old male and the seizure of substances believed to be methamphetamine and heroin as well as evidence related to trafficking narcotics. All three suspects were charged in relation to this event.
Twenty-one year-old Alexandria Nicole MANSBRIDGE, DOB: 1991-03-22, of Regina is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine) [5(2) CDSA]; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (heroin) [5(2) CDSA]; Possession of a Controlled Substance (hydromorphone); and Breach of Officer’s Undertaking [145(5.1) CC].
Twenty-six year-old Dexter Curtis MILLER, DOB: 1986-02-11, of Regina, is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine) [5(2) CDSA]; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (heroin) [5(2) CDSA]; and three charges of Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC].
Twenty-nine year-old Christelle Leah SMITH, DOB: 1983-07-08, of Regina is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine) [5(2) CDSA]; and Possession of a Controlled Substance (hydromorphone) [4(1) CDSA].
All three accused will make their first court appearances on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, February 6, 2013.
