The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, is investigating a death that appears to be suspicious.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012, police were dispatched to a house in the 1100 block of Cameron Street for a report of a person who was deceased. Police arrived and located the body of a person, but at this point in the investigation, the age and gender of the deceased person has not been determined. Police requested the Coroner and secured the scene and, in keeping with procedure in any unexplained death, requested Major Crimes and Forensic Identification investigators.
The identity of the deceased person has not been established and police are working with the Coroner’s Office to learn more about the circumstances of this death.
There are no further details available for release at this time. The investigation is ongoing. Elizabeth Popowich, the RPS Public Information Manager will be available at 2:00 p.m. today, December 15, 2012, to offer a brief chronology.
